Paterson Shooting Incident: One Dead, Three Injured in Paterson Shooting Near Children’s Party

One person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting Saturday night in Paterson, according to local officials. Authorities confirmed that four victims were struck by gunfire during the incident, which prompted a large police response in the area.

The shooting occurred near East 29th Street and 10th Avenue, where officers from the Paterson Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office quickly arrived and secured the scene. Investigators placed multiple evidence markers along the roadway as they began processing the area for clues.

Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh confirmed that all four victims had been transported to the hospital, where officials continued to monitor their conditions. One of the victims later died from their injuries. City Councilman Luis Velez stated that all those involved were under the age of 30.

Witnesses reported that a children’s birthday party was taking place nearby at the time of the shooting. Several people said they heard multiple gunshots ring out and immediately ran inside to seek safety.

The motive behind the shooting has not yet been released, and no information about potential suspects has been confirmed. The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is expected to provide additional updates as the investigation continues.
